Ive have just completed the trilogy of The Black Magicians.
You see.. as i read, its as if im watching a movie. I have just finished book III..
and out of the 3 books, the last one is the most exciting and sad one.

Sonea cant help it but fell in love with Akarrin. (He isnt that bad afterall) During their journey.. Sonea started to feel something for him. She's fighting with herself that she didnt love him.. but in the end, she did. During their journey along the steel belt, Akarrin and Sonea took turns to watch over while the other one sleeps.
~ Secrets revealed :
One night, Akarrin was having a nightmare, shaking madly. Sonea couldnt help it and woke him up but she didnt know Akarrin had created a shield around himself and sent Sonea flying off and hit the ground. Akarrin explained that he was used to it, he was dreaming about his exLove being killed by Davoka. Both of them sensed that they desire each other badly? At first Akarrin didnt want to accept becos he felt that it would be unaffair to Sonea becos she was much younger than him, but Sonea didnt bother. Lateron.. Akarrin revealed the he started to fall for her ever since she had first killed the Murderer Ichani magician with black magic in attempt to save Akarrin.

Akarrin and Sonea met Dorrien on their way back to Kyralia... but Dorrien had recieved orders to stop them returning... till then, an Ichani appeared. They fought fiercely... Dorrien almost lost his life, Akarrin healed him and Sonea managed to draw power for that Ichani. Then Dorrien realised how strong Ichanis are and will pose threat to the country. Thus he decided to help Akarrin secretly. Akarrin and Sonea got back to Kyralia through the help of thieves. Ceryni. (Sonea's old friend) They worked out plans together to kill the Ichanis.. but they were too strong. Only 7 Ichanis came to overthrow the Guild.. At the gate, they had serious battles... many Guild Magicians were killed, which included Lord Fergun (how sad, but nothing much, he wasnt any good guy). The head of Ichani was Kariko. Both he and Rothen had a battle. He attempted mind-reading on Rothen, learnt of the situation of the Guild. But Rothen's power was drained and broke a couple of his bones (oo..he wasnt young) Everyone thought he was dead, including Sonea. The thieves and other magicians used tricks and other ways to kill them one by one. Lord Lorlen was dead too. He was crashed under the ceiling underground. [That was sad. Both Lorlen and Akarrin were close friends ever since they joined the Guild as novice.] Akarrin carried Lorlen to the Guild.. healing him a little.. but still he died. (OMG.. to lose such a good friend). So finally left 3 Ichanis for Akarrin and Sonea to deal. They had their battle in the Guild's Arena. The battle was damn fierce. Kariko was strong.. but both of them managed to trick him to lose his strength. BUT that DAMN IDIOT KARIKO used tricks too. He purposely dropped his blade to the ground. (Ground was sand) With these black magicians summoning and concentrating on their power... winds brought up the sand.. Akarrin and Sonea worked together, attacking with heatstrike, forcestrike and mindstrike. Both of them were levitating in the air.. but failed to realised that Kariko's blade was right beneath Akarrin.. without notice, Kariko willed the blade to pierce itself into Akarrin's heart.

Both of them lost concentration and felt to the ground. [that is blardy moment.. my eyes had gone teary.. i hated to read this kind sad situation]. Sonea's heart froze. Her only thoughts were to heal him, but Akarrin stopped her. If she healed Akarrin, she will lose some of the strength to fight against Kariko and his 2 companion.
Akarrin's eyes were full of pain.. Sonea tried to let go but his grasp was strong. Then there was a cry of laughter that cut through the silence. 'So there's why ive left my knife,' crowed Kariko. Then Akarrin told Sonea that he will send Sonea his power.. telling Sonea to be strong and look up and continue the fight.. if not, not only the both of them will die but the rest of the guild and the kyralia. Sonea concentrate on all her power and anger for what Kariko had done to Akarrin and to the Imardins, she felt Akarrin sending power to her. Then she opened her eyes and focus on Kariko and his allies. The Ichani leader staggered backward, for a moment his shield held, then his mouth opened in a silent scream as heat strike burned through his body. The next man backed away but only a few steps. Sonea's magic was too strong that she shattered that man's shield and the heat burned him. Still, the last Ichani stood on the ground.. Sonea had used up all her power... then the last tickle of power flowed to her.. and sent it forth.. Kariko's eyes widened as his shield wavered, then shattered and heatstrike tore through him. Seeing the bodies on the ground.. she turned back to Akarrin. His eyes were open but soon.. the hands about her wrists lossened and fell away. Grabbing his hands.. Sonea tried to heal him.. but there wasnt even a spark of life. Akarrin had given her too much power, he had given her everything! With shaking hands, she ran fingers over his face and kissed his lifeless mouth... then curled herself around him and began to cry. Akarrin was gone forever.

It had taken Rothen a great deal of time to persuade Sonea to leave Akarrin's body. Eithe way.. she would lock herself in Akarrin's resident..
Well.. in the end, Sonea took over the high lord's position and the robes for High lord changed to white. She remained in Kyralia to rebuild the town and healed the people....

Waa.. did i write that long? I just realised that.
Anyway.. it isnt really the end of the story. I went to look up at Trudi Cavanan's site. She's continuing this story... another trilogy.. but it will be named as The traitor Spy trilogy.
The story continues about Sonea and Akarrin's son!!
OMG.. im excited.. but all those are still writing in process. They will only be out by late 2008.

It seems like i will be having 2 good books to read next year, Inheritance part III and this one!!

Ah.. i just realised how angry i felt when i was reading Inheritance II, knowing that Murtagh and Eragon were related. Its fascinating how these stories twist and turn!
Now.. history repeat itself. Im getting all sad becos of this last book. How i wished there were more stuffs written about Akarrin and Sonea.

As for now.. im off to bed. Im tired.. and sad of cos. I wil be making my breakfast. Hahaa.. X)
